Deborah Berke Receives a Sackler First Award from the Brooklyn Museum

On Thursday, October 19, Deborah Berke received a Sackler First Award from the Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum, an annual award “honoring extraordinary women who are first in their fields.” Deborah was recognized as the first woman to serve as the dean of the Yale School of Architecture and as a leading American architect. Principals Catherine Bird and Rhoda Kennedy accepted the award on Deborah’s behalf. The other honorees include Jodi Archambault Gillette, Judith Jamison, Carol Jenkins, Roberta Kaplan, Kathy Kusner, Rita Moreno, Our Bodies Ourselves, Ruth Simmons, Edie Windsor, Shirley Chisholm (posthumous), and Judy Chicago. Congratulations to all these amazing women!
