In the Press: Deborah Berke Partners in Christie’s International Real Estate
April 7, 2017
A recent article in Christie’s International Real Estate explored 21st century minimalism and emphasized our work’s flexible approach to pared-down living. “It’s about clarifying what is important for the life you want to live,” Partner Deborah Berke told writer Clare Dowdy, “and having everything else be in the background.”
The piece alluded to Deborah’s book, House Rules: An Architect’s Guide to Modern Life, as a source of guidelines for life without clutter. It also pointed out our East End Compound, a project led by Partner Marc Leff with Deborah and Principal Ameet Hiremath, as a successful example of minimalism made practical and comfortable; compact buildings across the Hamptons site prioritize connection with the landscape, with warmly modern tones anchoring a design language of horizontal and vertical planes.
