Shelter Island House Shelter Island, NY 2003

We designed this house to feel bigger than its compact 1,250 square-foot size. We divided it in two, between a master suite and more ‘public’ functions, and arranged the two volumes on a single story. One enters the house between the two volumes, by means of a glass vestibule that gives you an immediate view through the house to the wooded wetland beyond.
